Interested In Getting More Involved With WIO?

Women in Ophthalmology (WIO) is seeking volunteers interested in serving on WIO committees and task forces and being more involved with the organization. Below are the areas where members have the opportunity to get more involved with our organization.

  • Membership: Participate in the cultivation, growth, and retention of WIO membership and assist with the establishment of local WIO chapters and their management.
  • Communications/Social Media: Assist with social media campaigns, website resources, eBlasts, and other special projects as assigned.
  • Development/Fundraising: Help identify new sponsors and nurture relationships with current sponsors.
  • International Outreach: Cultivate partnerships with international female organizations, and work with the Membership Committee to increase WIO’s international membership.
  • Mentorship: Support WIO’s mentor program, Summer Symposium programming, and other mentoring initiatives throughout the year.
  • Academic Outreach: Help support those looking at a career in academics by developing trainings, resources, and mentoring through WIO’s programming.
  • Education: Participate in the creation of programs, special events and targeted resources that will provide education to the WIO community such as clinical trials training, educational webinars, wellness initiatives, and the Summer Symposium.

Committee and task force volunteers must be WIO members in good standing.

The WIO Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and Nominating Committee will reference your submission as openings become available for committees, task forces, and future initiatives.
