We are studying the molecular mechanisms that lead to angiogenesis in the wrong compartments in the eye (e.g., into the vitreous rather than into the retina in retinopathy of prematurity or into the neurosensory retina in neovascular age-related macular degeneration) with the goal to contain or redirect blood vessel growth.
